The new Renishaw RMP600 touch probe combines two unique technologies – high accuracy strain-gage sensing and frequency-hopping spread-spectrum (FHSS) radio transmission.
The industry-first design allows superior part checking precision on 5-axis machining, contours, deep cavities, undercuts, etc. where obstacles or part features can block transmission by optical line-of-sight probes. Renishaw’s exclusive RENGAGE‚â„¢ strain gage technology combines a patented sensing mechanism and advanced electronics to deliver sub-micron uni-directional repeatability – such as 0.25 ‚µm with 50 mm stylus. Unlike fixed channel radio probes, the RMP600 and its RMI receiver “hop” together through frequencies to a clear channel, avoiding WI-FI interference on “noisy” plant floors.
