The BioRing is a wearable in the form of a ring. Unlike the typical fitness band, this ring gives you way more flexibility in your every day life. It’s simple (looking), comfortable, and you may not even realize it, but it’s chock full of sensors.
The little device has three sensors—a 3-axis accelerometer measuring distance and steps, a bioimpedance sensor measuring your food intake, including your macro-nutrient breakdown (exactly how many carbs, fat, and proteins you eat during the day), and an optical HR sensor, measuring heart rate, heart health, and activity concentration.
The BioRing also measures water level, stress level, and sleep level. The company even developed an algorithm capable of calculating caloric intake and macro-nutrients breakdown. In order to measure the information precise enough, however, it needs around one week to learn its user’s metabolism since every person has a different rate.
The ring measures your calorie burn and calorie intake, yileding your calorie balance. If you’re eating more calories than you’re burning, you are gaining weight. The associated app, which acts as your personal coach, helps you reach your weight goals.
The BioRing is made out of ceramic zirconium and is able of alerting you to drink more water, and when to relax, in order to lower your stress level.
BioRing is equipped with vibration, is waterproof, and features Bluetooth Smart so it can sync with your smartphone.
According to the company, the battery will last you a week with just one charge.
