WAGO Expands LUMI-NUTS™ Luminaire Disconnect Line

By Design World Staff | October 28, 2008

GERMANTOWN, WI ‚–  WAGO Corporation has added the 873-903 three-pole model to the 873 Series LUMI-NUTS‚â„¢ luminaire disconnect line. The 873-903 is a safe electrical disconnect for high-feature linear fluorescent fixtures that use a dimming circuit or the Digital Addressable Lighting Interface (DALI) protocol.

LUMI-NUTS‚â„¢ meets NEC410.74 (G), CEC30-308 (4) and CSA/UL Standard 2459 for Insulated Multi-Pole Splicing Wire Connectors, ensuring safe service of linear fluorescent fixtures. Power input/line side accommodates AWG #18-12 solid and AWG #16-12 stranded conductors; ballast/load side accepts industry standard AWG #18 solid conductors.

The 873-903 provides a best-in-class rating of 6A/600V and utilizes a UL94V-0 flame-rated polyamide 6.6 housing for flame retardation. A touch-proof design ‚— whether mated or unmated ‚— eliminates need to disconnect power for service. An integrated locking latch prevents unintentional separation of the mating halves. The connectors are keyed for mis-mating protection and color-coded for simplified wiring. Mating halves carry on-unit markings to further reduce wiring errors.

LUMI-NUTS‚â„¢ connectors provide PUSH WIRE‚® terminations ‚— insert prepared conductor into unit. Terminations are maintenance-free, as well as vibration- and temperature-cycling resistant.
