Wilkerson has developed the E09 Series Combined Soft Start Dump Valve and Remote Operated Dump Valve.
These Soft Start/Dump Valves ensure the safe introduction of pressure into systems or machines. When installed, the valves allow pressure to slowly build up and set point before they fully open to deliver full flow at line pressure.
The regulated introduction of pressure is a very important safety factor, because it prevents damage to tools and reduces the chance of injuries in the work place when air pressure is injected into a system start up or machine.
To keep the Soft Start and Dump Valves open, an electrical signal to the solenoid operated version, or a pilot supply to the air pilot operated variant must be maintained. Moreover, the valves will automatically dump the pressure when the holding signal is taken away.
Aside from that, the valves have a one-fourth inch modular design, either British Standard Pipe Thread (BSPT) or the US standard National Pipe Thread (NPT). They also feature an Allen key that controls the flow until the set point is attained, and a Three-Way, Two-Position function that automatically dumps the downstream pressure when the pilot signal is removed.
The valves’ body is also made out of Aluminum and is covered with Polyester, while the seals are composed of Nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR).
More importantly, end users should correctly place the valves downstream of the lubricator, regulator or filter. If not the, the Soft Start/Dump Valves could malfunction.
