Pleasanton, CA — Adept Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq:ADEP) will showcase their two newest products at the Pack Expo 2010 show. Adept’s new mobile robot platforms will demonstrate how intelligent natural feature navigation cost-effectively automates line replenishment by interfacing with the company’s new primary packaging platform, the Adept PAC .
The Adept PAC platform has been designed around the USDA-accepted Adept Quattro s650HS robot. Adept’s mobile robot products address the major logistics challenges encountered within manufacturing environments, including line replenishment, flexibility in routing, scheduling and exception handling, and the costs associated with deployment.
“Manufacturers and producers are beginning to realize the benefits of automation in applications that extend beyond those traditionally found on a production line,” said Rush LaSelle, director of global sales and marketing of Adept Technology, Inc. “While Adept continues to focus on delivering greater efficiencies for clients implementing flexible automation on production lines, it is also extending the value proposition beyond traditional solutions by addressing applications such as order fulfillment, line replenishment, and intralogistics where productivity gains in moving goods through a facility stands to greatly improve a company’s bottom line.”
Adept Mobile Platforms
Adept Mobile Products help drive solutions to challenges faced in production, manufacturing, and logistics. Three Adept MT400 mobile robots, powered by Adept’s Motivity Core , will demonstrate for Pack Expo attendees how goods leaving a processing cell can be effectively moved through peopled spaces automatically. The Adept MT400 finds its way, performs tasks, speaks, responds, and carries out other jobs automatically and on demand. Motivity Core-based products differentiate themselves in their ability to deliver real natural feature navigation, which eliminates the barriers to the adoption associated with traditional AGV technologies including costs and complexity of installation. This enabling technology solves many problems faced by those who currently employ AGVs, and those who haven’t due to their limitations
* Motivity Core can be used with any base stations to quickly integrate and deploy mobile robot applications
* There are over 3,000 such units deployed and covering millions of miles using autonomous navigation
* Adept MT400 can be quickly installed for industrial applications requiring flexible mobile automation
Adept PAC
Adept PAC is a robotic platform that is setting the standard for primary packaging applications. Adept will be showing a high-speed packaging application using a dual Adept PAC platform. The Adept PAC packaging automation cell incorporates the USDA-accepted Adept Quattro robot , and is ideal for applications requiring both flexible and sanitary processing. The packaging cell is built with a rigid stainless steel frame for wash down capabilities and integrated with best-in-class products from Adept, such as the world’s fastest USDA-accepted robot, ultra-compact motion and vision controllers, touch-screen operator interface, and predefined programming recipes for advanced conveyor-tracking and vision-guidance.
* A prefabricated platform ensures a low total cost of ownership
* World’s fastest robot delivers high-throughput applications
* USDA-accepted robot for meat and poultry processing lowers risk of contamination
