Enterprise Server Solution Providers Launches EDSFF, OCP, Power Shelf, and PCIe® DirectAttached® Cable Solutions.
Amphenol Communications Solutions is pleased to announce the release of its high-speed cable solutions with options to meet PCIe®, EDSFF, OCP specifications, and power shelf requirements. In close collaboration with the PCI-SIG association, the PCIe®DirectAttached® cable riser solution eliminates PCB trace and vias and supports up to PCIe 5.0 32Gb/s. The EDSFF cable assemblies meet E1 and E3 specifications, OCP cable assemblies meet OCP NIC 3.0 specifications, and the power shelf cable assemblies are designed to support OCP Orv3 requirements.
Key product characteristics for improving signal integrity
Amphenol’s PCIe® DirectAttached® cable riser solution supports PCIe®5.0 data rate of 32Gb/s and reduces signal loss by replacing high-speed PCIe® trace on the multi-layer motherboard with high-speed cable. DirectAttached® CEM is a hybrid card edge 1.0mm pitch connector solution with high-speed signal pins designed to directly attach to the cable to eliminate PCB trace loss and press-fit termination type power pins for ease of PCB assembly. PCIe® DirectAttached® cable riser solution with PCIe® DirectAttached® CEM connector on one end of the cable allows the flexibility of a different connection on the other end of the cable, accommodating different PCB form factors such as EDSFF, OCP NIC 3.0, Gen Z, or backplane connectors. The mating interface for PCIe® DirectAttached® cable riser solution and DirectAttached® CEM is backward compatible with Gen 4/3/2/1.

The DirectAttached® cable riser and DirectAttached® CEM are available in a wide range of positions with X8 and X16 tooled and samples are available.
