Edison Nation Hosts the Amazon Inventions Tour

By Editor | September 18, 2015

Edison Nation is teaming with Amazon to host the Amazon Inventions Tour in Atlanta beginning Friday, September 25, 2015 through Saturday, September 26, 2015 from 7AM to 7PM EST at the Infinite Energy Center in Duluth, GA (formerly Gwinnett Center).

The Amazon Inventions Tour provides startups and inventors with an opportunity to privately pitch their invention ideas in-person to Edison Nation’s expert evaluation team for possible funding and further development. Inventors with ready-to-sell products are invited to present directly to Amazon for possible inclusion in Amazon Launchpad, a new program that makes it easy for inventors to launch, market and distribute their products to hundreds of millions of Amazon customers across the globe.

Edison Nation has secured a $50 million investment commitment to fund the launch of selected products, including new product inventions and ready-to-scale companies that may require financial support to make their products available on Amazon.com. Edison Nation will work with those companies to provide product financing and help accelerate their development and sales as an innovation partner.

“Whether you are a serial entrepreneur, garage inventor, or a tinkerer with a simple idea, the Amazon Inventions Tour provides a unique opportunity to connect your innovation with the experts at Edison Nation and one of the world’s largest global e-commerce sites,” said Louis Foreman, CEO of Edison Nation. “We’re excited to discover the undiscovered, and find exceptional new products and product ideas that can be introduced to consumers around the world through our collaboration with Amazon.”

The event will feature a number of high-profile speakers including venture capitalists, innovation experts, and industry leaders. Speaker topics will span such subjects as raising capital for your new business, protecting your intellectual property, manufacturing, digital marketing, brand building, healthcare and consumer product innovation and other relevant entrepreneurial topics. Event attendees will have the unique opportunity for one-to-one conversations with event speakers, as well as with team members from the host and sponsor organizations. The speaker series and networking portion of the event is free and open to the public.

The Amazon Inventions Tour is sponsored in part by Philips, a diversified health and well-being company focused on improving people’s lives through meaningful innovation. “At Philips, we empower people to be healthy, live well and enjoy life; and we do this by listening intently and creating innovation that people truly want and need,” said Arjen Linders, Market Leader for Philips Personal Health North America. “As a pioneering company that has launched groundbreaking new technology, we are excited to sponsor the Amazon Inventions Tour and provide opportunities for emerging innovators to bring meaningful innovation to consumers.”

Amazon’s desire to foster a dynamic ecosystem of creativity and innovation for startups and inventors led to the collaboration with Edison Nation for the Amazon Inventions Tour. Edison Nation has more than 14 years of experience confidentially uncovering, validating, developing, and commercializing inventions from individual innovators around the world. Edison’s marketplace model, which is grounded in the protection of intellectual property, has generated hundreds of millions in retail sales.

At the Amazon Inventions Tour, Edison Nation is looking for physical consumer product innovations including consumer goods and electronics, consumer health items, wearable technology, Internet of Things products, aging-in-place products, problem-solving inventions and more. The Amazon Inventions Tour is not the right venue to present new business solutions, new ideas for services, process improvements, technologies, or digital solutions. Product pitches ranging from early-stage invention concepts all the way to startups with manufacture-ready products are welcome.

Amazon is looking for physical products that could potentially be sold through its e-commerce platform and will be working directly with Amazon Inventions Tour registrants who fit the appropriate criteria. Select inventors may receive an invitation to participate in the Amazon Launchpad program.

Budweiser for Anheuser-Busch, a company focused on continually extending the reach of its brands to new consumer and consumption occasions, is also a sponsor. “As a brand, Budweiser strives to support creators of all kinds, so we’re proud to sponsor the Amazon Inventions Tour,” added Brian Perkins, vice president, Budweiser for Anheuser-Busch. “We appreciate and understand the work that goes into creating a great product that people enjoy, and we can’t wait to see the useful inventions that come out of this important program.”

The speaker series and networking portion of the event is free and open to the public. Presenting a ready-to-sell product to Amazon is also free to inventors. There is a $25 registration fee per invention for those interested in pitching an invention idea to Edison Nation. Space is limited and all attendees must register in advance at www.amazon.com/inventions.
