St. Louis-based MC Industrial, Inc., an independent McCarthy company, has been chosen to construct Boeing’s new 367,000-square-foot composite center on its St. Louis campus. MC Industrial, along with their design partner, Burns & McDonnell, will manage the design and construction of the manufacturing facility.
Preliminary design is underway, with construction starting in the winter 2015. An official groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for Dec. 16. Final completion of the facility is scheduled for June 2016.
The new multi-million dollar project is a manufacturing facility and will produce parts for the 777X aircraft. The facility is an expansion of Boeing’s St. Louis tooling center where MC Industrial has completed several projects.
“This project not only represents a great opportunity for us, but it is great for St Louis and the region, as it represents the first major production facility in St Louis for the commercial aircraft market.” said Tom Felton, President of MC Industrial.
“MC Industrial has a long history of working with Boeing, beginning in the early 1990s, and we are thrilled to be working for this industry leader once again,” added Felton.
