Advanced Micro Controls Inc. (AMCI), announced its full selection of networked size 25 (2.5” diameter, or 63mm) rotary encoders. These heavy duty rotary sensors can provide an overall measuring range of up to 30 bits, and are available for EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, Profibus, or DeviceNet communication. With both single-turn and multi-turn versions available, AMCI’s networked encoders are ready for any application.
The Need for Variety
AMCI has recognized the need for absolute rotary encoders that can communicate with a variety of different network protocols. With so many PLC manufacturers in the market, OEMs and Control System Integrators require flexibility when designing their control systems. AMCI continues to expand its rotary encoder offering to include these required network protocol compatibilities.

Package Specifications
AMCI networked rotary encoders are offered in a 2.5” diameter package. Solid shaft and hub shaft versions are available, and both types incorporate an oversized double row bearing that supports shaft loads up to 100 lbs radial / 50 lbs axial. These encoders are resolver based, meaning that they are designed to provide absolute position feedback without glass discs or sensitive LED components; enabling them to withstand high levels of shock and vibration. The IP67 rated package is the solution for single-turn and multi-turn position applications requiring protection from dust and water ingress. Stainless steel versions are also available for food grade and marine environments.
Leveraging over twenty years of experience in the design, development, and manufacturing of resolvers, AMCI boasts one of the industry’s most comprehensive offerings of heavy-duty encoder products.
