Oriental Motor Reduces Prices on PK High Torque Round Shaft Motors

By Miles Budimir | June 21, 2011

Oriental Motor USA is making it easier to consider the PK 1.8° high torque stepping motors for new or existing applications. We are so pleased with the performance results and quality found in our PK line of stepping motors that we are making them available with a new list price as a motor only or as part of our DC input unit package. Take the PK-P Motor Challenge and increase your performance and efficiency today.

The PK motor combines high torque and a compact size. Five frame sizes are available: 0.79 in. (20mm), 1.10 in. (28mm), 1.38 in. (35mm), 1.65 in. (42mm) and 2.22 in. (56.4mm). Each specification provides torque equivalent to a motor of the next larger frame size, supporting high-torque operation even in the high-speed range. For example, high torque type PK246PB [motor frame size 1.65 in. (42mm)] has the same holding torque as the standard type PK266-01B [motor frame size 2.22 in. (56.4mm)]. This means a smaller size motor will maintain the same torque. This allows for downsized and lightweight equipment. For customers who desire guaranteed performance from a stepping motor and driver package, our RBK Series offers our PK stepping motors and is ideal for high speeds through the entire speed range. For a standard performance package, our CMK Series with our PK stepping motors offer solid all around performance with the added benefit of the high torque motors.

Features / Benefits

• Up to 50% more torque than conventional stepping motors
• Increased accuracy of 2 arc min (0.034º)
• Lower heat and reduced vibration by lowering the current
• Downsize to a smaller motor for the same torque
• Higher speeds – Increased r/min with a smaller motor
• 5 frame sizes available:
     — 20mm (0.79 in)
     — 28 mm (1.10 in)
     — 35 mm (1.38 in)
     — 42 mm (1.65 in)
     — 60 mm (2.22 in)

Oriental Motor offers the widest stepping motor product line up and motor frame sizes in the industry, from 20 mm (0.79 in) to 90 mm (3.54 in) with many powerful performance characteristics.
