Reid Supply’s New Website Offers Powerful Features

Reid Supply Company launched their new e-commerce website for industrial products today with better search tools and online account management.

“The new ReidSupply.com is a culmination of best practices in web design and creative collaboration between the web team and our customers,” said John Carrier, President of Reid Supply Company. “Customers are going to get better and faster search results for the industrial products they need.”

One of the great new features of ReidSupply.com is the speed at which someone can find the products they need. They can browse categories, such as Material Handling or Leveling Devices, and see instantly the next logical step leading to the product details. Basically, the customer can find exactly what they need in only a few clicks.

Other features include: an enhanced search engine; better data organization; filter results by attributes; sort by popularity and price; a new item detail page with easy-to-read layout and improved product details.

Managing account information has been simplified on ReidSupply.com. Once logged into the user’s account, they can upload a spreadsheet using the “Uploader” tool. This makes it easy to re-order as a manufacturer needs product. Check-out is completely new with a streamlined process that guides customers through check-out quickly and accurately.

To make the site easier to use, it is loaded with product photographs for customers who prefer image-driven navigation to help with their search. Also included are computer aided design (CAD) images, which are FREE to the customer.

“We asked ourselves how we could create a simpler and smarter search app that delivered what customers were looking for,” said Greg Palmer, Director of Marketing at Reid Supply Company. “Our new search engine is very intuitive in the sense that as you are typing, it is auto-suggesting in a drop-down window. This can be very handy if you don’t know exactly what you want. This new search engine can be very helpful to research and source products.”

ReidSupply.com is an organic website that is constantly evolving with site improvements using new technologies to improve the customer’s experience. New and improved features are incorporated on an ongoing basis.

“This is a very complex website,” said Carrier. “We have invested heavily in our ERP system, our search engine, our database servers, our programming platform and a lot of programming to make it all work.”

ReidSupply.com is on the cutting edge of technology and offers FREE CAD images on more than 90% of everything in the Reid Supply Company catalog.

“We have tens-of-thousands of free CAD images that anyone can download,” says Palmer. “We think that this is the biggest, free CAD database in the industrial supply industry. Our goal is to make it easy for an engineer or technician in any industry to come to ReidSupply.com and simply download the CAD part they need for their engineering designs.”

The company’s new website offers a knowledge base for engineers, designers, machinists, hobbyists and scholars. This repository of information features the free CAD library, a large collection of reference books, a free e-newsletter, free resource guides, special requests and more.
