Tower of Terror II
Dreamworld – Queensland, Australia
Originally launched as the “Tower of Terror” in 1997, this coaster was the first to reach speeds of 100 mph and, at the time, was the tallest, fastest coaster in the world. (Stats are similar to its sister installation, “Superman: The Escape”). A linear synchronous motor accelerates the cars to 100 mph, and then they’re propelled straight up the vertical section, where riders go weightless for 6.5 seconds.
- Drop: 328 feet
