C&K Components, a manufacturer of electromechanical switches, smart card interconnect devices, and high reliability connectors, has developed an ultra low profile, top-actuated surface mount switch for use in applications that require ultra-miniature components. Measuring 3.0 x 2.0 x 0.58 mm, the new KXT Series momentary action switches are rated for a range of operating forces with an operating life of 300,000 cycles.

KXT Series devices are momentary action, single pole/single throw (SPST), normally open (NO) switches with a travel distance of 0.13 mm (±0.05 mm). Available in a range of operating forces —100 gf (±30), 180 gf (±50), and 240 gf (±70) — all of which have a 300,000 cycle operating life, the series is rated for 12 VDC/50 mA and operating temperatures spanning -30° C to 85° C.
