Sick has launched a compact absolute linear encoder specifically designed as a motor feedback system for linear motors or for positioning machine tools and robotics. Offering a reliable alternative to fragile optical scales, the TTK70 comes with sub-micron resolution as well as an accuracy of +/-10 microns.
The high-performance magnetic encoder features a compact yet robust read head that is slightly larger than a matchbox. Aside from being small, the TTK70 is also easy to install and versatile, offering a vast array of interface options including Profibus, SSI/SinCos, Canopen and Devicenet to enable simple integration to PLC-based installations. The Hiperface interface allows the TTK70 to provide highly dynamic linear motor feedback.
The TTK70 also offers high reliability in harsh operating conditions as it has a high level of resistance to dirt, dust and wet environment, thanks to its IP65 rating and magnetic operating principles.
Measuring at up to 4m in length, the TTK70 operates at up to 10 m/s, making it ideally suited for use in metal forming, robotic handling systems, flatbed printers and medical scanning equipment.
