Webcast Presents Techniques for Reducing Power Consumption in Industrial Designs

By atesmeh | October 13, 2011

Analog Devices (ADI), a world leader in semiconductors for high-performance signal processing applications, will broadcast its latest webcast “Design Techniques for Reducing Power Consumption and Harmful Thermal Events in Industrial Designs” on October 19, 2011, at 2:00 pm EDT. Using a typical analog module configuration, the presenter will show how to calculate the maximum ambient temperature a system can tolerate based on maximum output load requirements. Viewers will also learn about new technology that enables a reduction in the power dissipated in the module, regardless of what output load is connected, and especially under fault conditions on the output. Finally, the performance of these devices will be examined when the supply is run with a switching regulator rather than with a linear regulator.

Who Should Attend

All students and engineers new to the field should attend, as well as those more experienced engineers involved in industrial control design.

The Presenter

Colm Slattery is an applications engineer in Analog Devices’ industrial and instrumentation group. Prior to this role, Colm spent three years based in ADI’s office in Shanghai, China, where he was a test and development engineer supporting the precision converter group. Colm graduated from the University of Limerick with a BA in Electronic Engineering.
