Liteye Systems and Tribalco are collaborating for the delivery of AUDS counter-UAV defense systems to the U.S. military.
AUDS is a defense solution designed to detect, track, identify, and defeat hostile unmanned aerial vehicles. According to Liteye, operators can use the system to thwart surveillance maneuvers from enemy forces.
Company officials say the proliferation of drones makes the product more important for armed forces to procure.
“Our team is very proud to become part of the effort to detect, track, identify, and defeat rogue UAVs threatening our forces,” Liteye Systems president Thomas Scott said in a press release. “As the legitimate use of unmanned vehicles becomes more prevalent in many industries, they become readily available for illicit use by our enemies.”
To track potentially hostile UAVs, the AUDS system uses a smart sensor and effector package built for detecting smaller unmanned vehicles. Once identified, operators have the option to disrupt their activity. In addition to monitoring the airspace, AUDS can also be used as a ground surveillance system.
“As a global system integrator with extensive experience working with the U.S Military, we understand the importance of enhancing perimeter protection to stay ahead of threats to life or property,” Tibalco vice president Zac Neumayr added.
