All the better to track you, my dear
This is the kind of test equipment it takes to run car tracking tests these days. Though it is hard to see, there is a Qualcomm GPS receiver at right that is being tested. The Rohde & Schwarz SMBV100B (top) is a vector signal generator which, here, generates the GPS test signal simulating a car wandering around. The R&S CMW500 is a combo RF power meter/CW generator/vector signal analyzer that is running diagnostics on the Qualcomm device. It is usually used in production testing. The instruments at the Rohde & Schwarz also fed their outputs to software from Vector which superimposed the GPS data on a road map. www.rohde-schwarz.com
