Super-thin batteries for the IoT
The wearable technology on display at CES all needs some kind of power source. This is one candidate for devices such as smart wristbands. It is a lithium ceramic battery here shown fashioned into a wrist-wearable format. The flexible version shown here is a mere 0.38 mm thick. It has a nominal voltage of 3.75 V and up to a 1,050 mAh capacity and 290 Wh/L energy density. Developed by ProLogium in Taiwan, the battery can flex or fold without leaking and can be overcharged without fear of fire or other adverse effects. The power sources can also be had in pouch form.
