(FREMONT, Calif.)- Elma Electronic has announced the introduction of new front panel light guides in various diameters, lengths and colors (on request) that offer sealing to IP68.
The IP68 LEDs feature sealing that is accomplished through special shaping of the light guide body accompanied with precision boring by the customer. All standard Elma front surface shapes and LED launch shapes are available. In addition, light guide lengths are now available up to 100mm on request.
The lightguides are available in protruding styles or versions that are mounted flush with the front panel. They also have a chamfered light coupling area, which allows other LEDs to emit light perpendicular to the circuit board. Elma’s IP 68 lightpipes are individual components that are precision press-fitted into the front panel. With Elma’s modular tooling techniques and 40 years of experience in electronics, the company can customize configurations more efficiently.
