Your next car’s center console?
A few IC makers had private rooms and suites at CES which featured a touch screen/center console display mockup like this one at the Renesas suite. The demos used chipsets that run high-end car information systems incorporating such features as high-definition displays, instrument cluster screens, multi-display output to the rear seat monitor, and cloud services that use big data. This demo ran on a Renesas R-Car H2 SoC for car information systems requiring over 25000 DMIPS. The device incorporates a quad-core Cortex-A15 and PowerVR G6400 GPU and runs under Linux. Renesas says the console screen demo required under 15% of the CPU capacity.
