Avoiding data bottlenecks through UAV slip rings
Moog’s Components Group had a focus on avoiding the problems that can arise when gimbaled sensors systems transfer data across rotary joints, i.e. slip rings, at data speeds in the gigabit/sec range. Avoiding trouble, says Moog, involves technologies that include slip rings, fiber optic rotary joints, high-speed data links, multiplexors, and media converters.
